The challenge of this work-package is to create an ICT service platform as knowledge-based energy management framework to provide support from energy monitoring and consumption analysis to energy efficiency and renewable integration business models.
The objective is to develop an access point to existing cloud-based set of integrated ICT services related to increased energy efficiency and reduction of GHG emissions in districts and to demonstrate its viability in pilot projects.
For this energy management service platform a strong service layer must be developed in order to manage consumption and distributed generation for more than a hundred sites. This layer will integrate existing ICT tools from previous experiences from project's partners. Novel mathematical methods and rules for detecting abnormal consumptions at installation and at district level will be developed to address frequent problems like systems in operation when they are not needed (like light and computers at night in office buildings)
One of the main objectives of this work package is to provide an effective and economically efficient solution for integration of renewable energy production and connection with the smart electricity grid. A local micro-grid will be necessary to command orders to different elements (CHP, batteriesand consumption devices) to manage all local current flows. This local micro-grid system will need a second level layer to make sure the right operation and to provide a support for problems. A general scheme for this integration in a network of different local micro-grids, measures devices and centralized control is show at next figure.
